October 26, 1956
Elvis arrived in New York and rehearsed there with the Jordanaires.
The Colonel concluded a deal with RCA, permitting them to use Elvis's name for promoting a record player called the Victrola phonogram.

On the set of Stay Away Joe Elvis told a reporter from Cosmopolitan magazine that he still had a lot to learn about acting. " Much of his progress, he says, comes from hanging out with real good professionals, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't pick up on something from the other actors."
